It is because It is easy to set-up an online classifieds, everyone thinks that they can do it and promote it like quikr or olx in India. Setting up an online classifieds require a meagre amount of IT knowledge. That's it.

But promoting a website is not that easy as we think. Bringing a website to thousand visitors per day a tremendous amount of efforts should put in.

I have just visited some of the old classifieds sites of Indian origin. many are defunct. some are only surviving with a home page, some are allowing to post ads and not publishing it. some are only Adsense site without any ads and many sites which are advising the users that the ads will be moderated by they are not getting published.

Including vivastreet, there are so many junk ads and home based jobs which are posted continuously without a gap. which clearly states that site is not under constant monitor by the webmasters.

Growing site such as r4sales.com provide some hopes that a regular monitoring and publish ads on the fly with checks and balances in place to filter the spam contents.

R4sales Indian classifieds and Marketplace needs to go a much longer distance to be named as one among the popular classifieds.
